It’s almost this Pisces professor’s birthday month! My husband and I both celebrate our solar returns, as the astrologers say, the first week of March and we are caught a bit unprepared year after year because February is so short. I honestly don’t do well with my birthday so sort of stumbling upon it every year is probably for the best!
Are you ready for your March tarotscope? A few things if you’re new here:
First, while I am not psychic and don’t tell fortunes with my tarot cards, I do believe in the synchronicity and magical timing of tarot wisdom, especially in trusted and like-minded communities like ours. So I am confident there will be a nugget of wisdom or resonance somewhere in here for all of us.
Second, as a staunch believer in reading tarot for ourselves, I have included two tarot questions with each tarotscope so you can consult your own tarot deck and get an even more personalized message.
And third, the tarot deck featured this month (I choose a different one for each month’s tarotscopes - so feel free to browse previous months if you are in need of some deck inspo!) is Tarot Vintage. I consulted on a tarot reading scene for a film a friend of mine made (so cool right!?) and one of the first questions they asked me was where they could get a worn-in looking deck quickly and affordably. After trying to source some actual vintage decks on eBay didn’t quite pan out, I recommended Tarot Vintage and they went with it! It’s a standard Rider-Waite-Smith deck, but make it vintage. 💁🏻♀️
To check what the energy in March might look like for you, scroll down until you see your sign. Whether you check for your sun sign, moon sign, or rising sign is up to you. Whatever you decide (hell, check all three!), I am sure your intuition will not lead you astray.
Without further ado, here are your March tarotscopes!
Pisces | The Moon (Feb. 19 - March 20)
Your tarot card for March: Two of Cups
The Two of Cups again, Pisces! I can’t help but feel that this tarot card is showing up as medicine for the infamous Pisces tendency to self-isolate when we are overwhelmed or stuck in our feels. The Two of Cups can show up when a certain relationship is being brought to the fore of our attention, but it can also show up in a more general way - to remind us not to abandon connection and commitment to people, causes, and communities other than ourselves. How can you keep this in mind this month?
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: To what or whom am I ready to commit? How can I reach out to members of my community this month?
Aries | The Emperor (March 21 - April 19)
Your tarot card for March: Two of Pentacles
Another two! Curious! (See Pisces above.) The month of March seems to be all about the juggling act that is life, Aries. When this card shows up, at least for me, it often means that I am getting really excited about and invested in some new project or aspect of my work - which is great - but then am having trouble fitting it in with the rest of my obligations and responsibilities. Figuring out not only how to spend our time but how our priorities in life may be shifting around a bit is key to this balancing act.
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: What tasks or responsibilities in my life are most meaningful to me? How can I weave more self-care into my daily routine this month?
Taurus | The Hierophant (April 20 - May 20)
Your tarot card for March: Queen of Wands
Your March is looking so bright you’re gonna need some shades, Taurus! The Queen of Wands - my tarot idol, I must say - is the most passionate and confident queen in the tarot. When this court card shows up, it usually indicates that we are ready and being called to step into this energy of high self-esteem and confident self-expression. What’s also important to note is who around us is ecstatic to see us finally embrace the light they always saw in us even when we didn’t, and who seems to prefer that we keep ourselves hidden in the shadows with them.
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: In what way am I ready to shine this month? What kind of social circle does my higher self know I deserve?
Gemini | The Lovers (May 21 - June 20)
Your tarot card for March: Four of Wands
I always think of the ancient Greek goddess Hestia when I see this tarot card. The virgin goddess of the hearth and home, Hestia and her correspondences can show up when we are either feeling homesick or feeling a strong urge to nest. This energy can be embraced in a more physical and material way by literally cleaning, redecorating, or house-hunting. But since we are in the realm of Wands and not Pentacles, I think there’s a deeper emotional drive at play this month. What feels and doesn’t feel like home at this point in your life, Gemini?
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: How can I ground myself this month? What emotions are trying to surface?
Cancer | The Chariot (June 21 - July 22)
Your tarot card for March: Eight of Wands
The message of this particular tarot card, at least for me, hinges on our perspective of the wands flying across the card. Are they being hurled at us, or are we the ones doing the hurling? This month, I’m getting the sense that we are doing the hurling, which I see as thrilling and energizing, especially after a period of stuckness, setbacks, or regrouping. Rather than overwhelm or stress from the speed at which things may be coming together or moving ahead, the Eight of Wands seems to indicate locking into a rhythm - a magical groove - that has us ready to make big strides and level up. What might that look like for you, Cancer?
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: In what area of my life am I ready for immense growth and dramatic progress? How can I stay balanced and poised amid chaos this month?
Leo | Strength (July 23 - Aug. 22)
Your tarot card for March: The Chariot reversed
This reversal, Leo, is giving STUCK. Perhaps you are getting antsy and ready to make big moves but your resources, circumstances, or partners are not quite there and you feel like you are being held back in life. Instead of forcing our way through (which honestly has been my strategy of choice most of my life if we are being completely honest with each other), the Chariot asks us to surrender our will and be open to divinely inspired possibilities and opportunities trying to make themselves known to us. What could this look like for you, Leo?
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: What path does my intuition want to lead me down? How can I surrender to the flow of the Universe this month?
Virgo | The Hermit (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)
Your tarot card for March: The Star
Oh how this Major Arcana soothes my aching soul, Virgo! When the Star shows up, we are often being called to embrace ourselves more fully and start showing up as a more honest and vulnerable version of ourselves. Which part of us do we regularly embrace and reveal, and which parts do we still insist on hiding away in the shadows for the most part? And why is that? Star energy often has us visioning the different ways we could show up, create, and connect with others if we could let down our guard a bit more.
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: How can I embrace more vulnerability this month? How can I show up as my most honest and authentic self?
Libra | Justice (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22)
Your tarot card for March: Four of Swords
I call the Four of Swords - sometimes fondly and sometimes in frustration, the meditation card. This tarot card is not just about rest and relaxation, although something tells me you certainly need more of that too, Libra! More specifically, the Four of Swords is about distancing ourselves from the minor trials and tribulations of our mundane lives in order to go deeper and reconnect with not only ourselves but also with something Universal and bigger than ourselves. It is okay if the dramas and details we used to live for at some point seem inconsequential and uninteresting because our soul craves something deeper. If we can pause long enough, what might we discover in the stillness and silence of meditation?
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: How can I connect to my intuition this month? In what ways can I relax and relinquish control this month?
Scorpio | Death (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21)
Your tarot card for March: Three of Cups
Your tarotscope was a three last month too, Scorpio! These repeated threes make me think relationships and socializing have been playing a major role in our life (for better or worse, or maybe a mix of both). The Three of Cups showing up for a protective and secretive Scorpio can be a potentially exciting but also anxiety-inducing invitation to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Perhaps you are coming to the realization of how much more important certain people - or a support network more generally - are to you and you want to make sure your actions and time spent reflect this realization. How can you push past anxiety or cynicism to keep this beautiful and important growth going?
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: How can I nurture my friendships? How can I get out of my comfort zone this month?
Sagittarius | Temperance (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21)
Your tarot card for March: King of Pentacles
Fun fact: The King of Pentacles is the card that showed up for me ages ago to let me know that my intuition was guiding me to a more traditional full-time job rather than the hustle of the freelance life. Okay, but what does it mean for you, Sag, in March of 2024? More broadly, this tarot King is financially secure due to his well established career or business endeavors, whatever that looks like for you! This King has visioned the life he wants, has deliberately planted certain seeds, tilled the earth, and is now enjoying the fruit of his labors. What does your King of Pentacles vision look like, and depending on where in my little harvest analogy you’re currently at, what next steps do you need to bring that vision a little closer to your lived reality?
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: What kind of future do I envision for myself? What steps can I take to feel more secure and abundant?
Capricorn | The Devil (Dec. 22 - Jan. 19)
Your tarot card for March: Page of Swords
I love the tarot Pages because pages are students. They are curious seekers and life-long learners and that’s (perhaps unsurprisingly for a professor) one of my most treasures values. The Page of Swords in particular shows up when we are being invited to explore our thoughts and beliefs and how we communicate them to others. In the Rider Waite Smith deck, this Page is clearly an amateur based on their stance and even facial expression depending on the deck we’re working with. And that’s okay! We all start somewhere and are rarely if ever served by comparing our beginning to someone else’s middle. What knowledge have you been thirsting for, and how can you gift yourself with some education and experimentation this month?
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: What curiosity is rising to the surface of my attention this month? In what area of life am I ready to learn and grow?
Aquarius | The Star (Jan. 20 - Feb. 18)
Your tarot card for March: King of Cups
Ooh, I love this King so much, Aquarius. The King of Cups is emotional, yes, but also emotionally intelligent. What does that mean? That means that he knows how to make space for his feelings at times and environments that are appropriate and conducive to emotional processing and healing. And he also knows which emotions are and are not his to process! (That’s where the Queen of this suit tends to run into trouble because boundaries can be difficult to draw for empaths!) How are you being invited to step into this archetype of emotional intelligence and balance? How might your life benefit from exercising this muscle a bit more?
Tarot questions to help you dive deeper: How can I hold stronger boundaries this month? What might help me develop my emotional intelligence?

The one that landed most with me was the Pisces one, actually. I´m a Scorpio with the sun conjunct the fixed star Agena - but also conjunct (tah-dah!) Neptune. As a bonus, my Chiron is in Pisces and trines my sun. Pretty sure I understand Pisces just fine. 😇 Bonne anniversaire, trés tôt! 🎂🎉 Yes, I have been doing some Piscean-style spacing out over the back half of the winter, and I´m fine with it, actually, if a little annoyed with myself.
(I have heard a lot of astrological-oriented people make not-so-nice remarks about Pisces over the decades, and I have to say, those people suck. And they´re also wrong.)
As part of my Piscean spacing out, and som Capricornish beginner energy, I snagged some tarot decks from Lo Scabero: the Minchiate Tarot (97 cards), a Lenormand, a Kipper deck, and a Sibilla deck. I am halfway to having the LeNormand down, I need a little more explanation of the Sibilla deck (most of the books are Italian - which I cannot, yet, read) and the deck didn´t come with the usual insert, and the Kipper is a big huh. Flipping through the Minchiate was the relevation - having 36 trumps instead of the 22 basically explains where the 36 cards of the LeNormand & the Kipper were derived from, and it explains where some of the hard-to-notice, easy-to-feel lacks of the RWS trumps come from.
