🚨 Our tarot book club officially starts on January 19th, and your reading guide for our first book, Heal the Witch Wound: Reclaim Your Magic and Step into Your Power by Celeste Larsen, is here! Scroll to the end of this week’s newsletter to download it. This eight-week book club will be open to all paid subscribers, so if you see a paywall, please consider upgrading your subscription for a couple months to join us. 🚨

There seems to be a social media war going on over when mystical/spiritual/witchy folks should celebrate the new year. Is January 1st, the start of the Gregorian calendar, an appropriate time to set resolutions and start new projects? Or is it more appropriate to wait until nature’s (and the zodiac’s) new year, the Spring Equinox in March?

While some of us are very much in dead-of-winter hibernation mode, others of us are feeling a surge of motivation and energy with the new calendar year and ready to move on goals now. Which are you?

I’m feeling somewhere in between this year, leaning a little more toward hibernation mode than I would like to be, if I’m being honest. This made me think our tarot community is probably scattered all over the spectrum too, so I have not one but three new-year appropriate tarot articles for you from the archives this week, ranging from “Not ready for resolution talk yet” to “Bring on all the goal setting!”

Feel free to read whichever one matches your current energy level and ignore the others. And, of course, don’t forget to download the tarot book club reading guide linked at the end of this week’s newsletter.

Happy new year, tarot darlings!

Still in hibernation mode? Let’s just focus on tarot then.

5 Tips for Developing a Regular Tarot Practice

I got a wonderful question that I’ve actually heard quite a few times before (and even pondered myself!): What is your biggest advice for implementing tarot into everyday life? I want to start doing readings everyday, but I haven’t figured out a way to put it into my routine for the day.

That Was Yesterday

Over the last few years, it seems like every time the glow of January begins to paint the horizon, two competing but equally extreme camps emerge in the spiritual and self-help corners of the Internet. On the one hand we have the hyper-masculine “January 1st sets the tone for the rest of the year so you better go to the gym..."

Set Better New Year Intentions with Tarot

Incorporating tarot into our goal-setting process is a beautiful way to turn high-pressure and often unfulfilling New Year’s resolutions into authentic and aligned new year intentions that come from a place of self-love, joy, and creativity. In this week’s newsletter, you will probably learn way more than you ever cared to know about intentions and goals...

And now, your tarot book club reading guide!

This 23-page guide was so fun to create. It contains a suggested eight-week reading schedule, our meet-up dates (two live text chats here on Substack plus a Zoom meet-up in February - yay!), discussion questions for each chapter, tarot spreads and exercises to do you as read, beautiful quote pages, and other tidbits (like a hand-selected ambient playlist to listen to while you read!) to help guide our journey through Heal the Witch Wound by Celeste Larsen.
